‘Fake encounter’ condemned

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: The Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) State Committee described the killing of its Warangal area committee member Kunja Sudhakar alias Ashok (27) by the police in the Bhupatipur forest area of Warangal district a ‘fake encounter’.

G. V. Ragahvulu, party spokesman, said in a statement that Ashok and another person was arrested and the CPI (ML) leader was shot dead. He disputed the claim of Warangal SP V.C. Sajjanar that the militant party had been wiped out in the district following the encounter. He called upon all parties to launch a united struggle against fake encounter killings in the State.
