Another tests positive for swine flu

BANGALORE: Another person has tested positive for H1N1 virus on Wednesday taking the number of confirmed cases in the city to 18. The affected person is a 29-year-old engineer who returned from China a few days ago.
He has been admitted at the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Chest Diseases (RGICD). He is one of the four whose samples were sent to the National Institute of Virology (NIV), Pune, for tests on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, 17 more persons were screened at the institute on Wednesday and throat and nasal swabs of all the 17 were sent to the NIV for tests, Institute Director Dr. Shashidhar Buggi said.
Of these, six, including two children, were referred from Bengaluru International Airport. While three have been admitted at the institute, one has been admitted in Lakeside Hospital and remaining two children have been advised home quarantine.
