Railways scheme for retired employees

CHENNAI: Retired railway employees with 20 years of qualifying service and who have not joined the Railway Employees Liberalised Health Scheme - 97 ( RELHS - 97) are now given a final chance to join the scheme on or before March 31, 2010, according to a press release.
Special condition of ‘lock-in’ period
The scheme has been approved by the Railway Board with a special condition of a ‘lock-in’ period. Medically invalidated employees and spouses of railway employees who died in harness and did not join the scheme earlier are also eligible to join the scheme.
To join the scheme
The retired/medically invalidated employees/serving spouses of railway employees who are willing to join the scheme may contact the Personnel Department of Southern Railway headquarters or the Divisional Offices of Southern Railway for further details.
