Staff Reporter

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: As part of the institutional strengthening programme being implemented by the Kerala Water Authority (KWA), 13 project division offices came into existence on Wednesday.

The implementation of ongoing projects and the design of new ones will be handled exclusively by these offices of the authority.

The State-wide inauguration of the offices was carried out here on Wednesday by Minister for Water Resources N. K. Premachandran.

In his inaugural address, Mr. Premachandran said the creation of the offices would enable the KWA to complete ongoing projects on time.

The project division offices would begin their work by focussing on water projects estimated at Rs.1,272.23 crore being implemented across the State under the Special Package Assisted by NABARD (SPAN) scheme.

Project division offices have been set up at Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Adoor, Kottayam, Kattappana, Perumbavoor, Piravom, Nattika, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Mattannur and Kannur.
