Petrol to cost Rs. 50.66 a litre

Bangalore: In Bangalore city the price of Euro III variety of petrol is increased to Rs. 50.66 from Rs 46.28 a litre with effect from today. Overall increase in petrol price, including local taxes and cesses, is Rs. 4.38 a litre in the city.

Similarly, the price of BSII variety has been increased to Rs. 50.37 from Rs. 45.99 a litre.

The price of diesel has gone up by Rs. 2.21 a litr. The diesel will now cost Rs.37.01 as against the previous price of Rs 34.80.

Meanwhile, petroleum outlets in the city saw long queues at night as motorists wanted to beat the price rise.

Some petroleum outlets, which had to close by 10 p.m., had to stay open for some more time, said a police officer.

The increase in fuel prices has not gone well with people. People blamed the Centre for the situation.
