Alleged extortionist arrested

NEW DELHI: A man has been arrested for allegedly extorting nearly Rs.1.5 lakh from a pharmacist by posing as a police officer.

The accused, identified as Gauri Shankar, extorted money from Ambika Prasad Sharma. Initially he allegedly forced Ambika Prasad to write a note stating that he had taken a loan of Rs.88,000 from him and was returning Rs.50,000 through cheque. He again extorted money from the pharmacist.
