Chandy, Chennithala meet Sonia

New Delhi: Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee president Ramesh Chennithala and Leader of the Opposition Oommen Chandy on Wednesday met party president Sonia Gandhi to settle the differences over the appointment of the party’s State youth wing chief. Mr. Chandy strongly opposed the removal of T. Siddique as the State Youth Congress president to appoint M. Lijju, who was handpicked by Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi through a talent search programme. “We cannot share the details of the Congress’ organisational matters with the media,” Mr. Chandy told presspersons after the meeting. — IANS
