Venues for ODI series against Australia

Mumbai: The Tour Programme and Fixtures Committee of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has awarded the seven-match One-Day International series against Australia to Guwahati, Mumbai, Delhi, Mohali, Hyderabad, Nagpur and Jaipur in October-November. Logistics will determine the order of the seven matches.

A BCCI release said that the inaugural Corporate Trophy will be played on a league-cum-knockout format in the South Zone from September 1 to 8.

Twelve teams will be placed in three groups before the knockout stage of the tournament.

The other decisions taken at the meeting were: 1. Play the inter-zonal Duleep Trophy on a knockout basis, 2. Schedule the inter-State T20 competition for the Mushtaq Ali Trophy,

3. Restrict women’s cricket to one-day and T20 tournaments,

4. Play the C.K. Nayudu Trophy (under-22) and Cooch Behar Trophy (under-19) tournaments in Elite and Plate format and on a home-and-away basis.

No Deodhar this year

The inter-zonal 50-over tournament for the Prof. D. B. Deodhar Trophy will not be held in the 2009-10 season because of a tight domestic and international schedule and also the IPL season 3 to be scheduled in March 2010.

The tournament was established in 1973-74. — Special Correspondent
