BANGALORE: Israel and India, which had a bilateral trade of $4 billion last year with Israeli exports accounting for $ 2.4 billion, have greater potential for collaboration in the information technology sector, according to Israel’s Consul-General Orna Sagiv. Speaking to reporters during a visit by an Israeli delegation of 30 IT companies, she said Tata Consultancy Services already had a presence in her country and others would find good business prospects. Katrin Melamed, Business Development Manager (Software), Israel Export and International Cooperation Institute, said Indian IT companies could locate their research and development centres in that country, drawing on local talent. For Israel, India was the third largest trading partner in Asia.
