To be installed from November 1 in hospitals where nephrologists are available HYDERABAD: Health Minister for Arogyasri Pitani Satyanarayana said that the State government proposed to install dialysis units on behalf of Arogyasri Trust in all government hospitals where nephrologists were available, from November 1. Addressing the Doctors Day celebration organised by A.P. Private Hospitals and Nursing Homes Association (APNA) here on Wednesday, Mr. Satyanarayana also said it was proposed to start 20-bed hospitals in public-private partnership with 30 per cent share of government. The proposal was being discussed by officials. He added that the government would shortly convene a State-level meeting of hospital managements to discuss problems in implementation of Arogyasri. Representatives of corporate hospitals would also be present. He assured that the Indian Medical Association would be represented on the advisory committee of Arogyasri. The government would bring more number of diseases under Arogyasri coverage. Information and Public Relations Minister J. Geeta Reddy described Arogyasri as the flagship programme of the government. Many people had raised serious doubts about its success when it was introduced but they were all convinced now about its effectiveness. The meeting was also addressed by APNA president D. Kantha Reddy and general secretary R.S. Saluja.
