TRS: joint leadership favoured

Staff Reporter

‘It would have more public acceptability’

B. Vinod Kumar

WARANGAL: Senior TRS leader and former MP B. Vinod Kumar favoured joint leadership to the party as it would have more public acceptability.

Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, he said any leader or party should conduct as per the expectations of the public. Else they would lose faith and K. Chadrasekhar Rao was no exception.

Referring to the recent debacle in the election, Mr. Vinod Kumar said the Grand Alliance failed to show the unity and put up a united fight in the elections. Had there been a little bit of coordination within the alliance, it would have come to power very easily.

He said some section of people did not like Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao expressing his willingness to extend support to the NDA. Some even criticised his decisions on alliance and the way he took the decisions. “The leaders should have talked within the party. Things took an ugly turn with some leaders going out openly and talking to the media without hinting the leadership,” he said.

Mr. Vinod Kumar said KCR was well aware of the developments and he had enough courage to keep the party together and build a mass movement. He said KCR would not go against the expectations of the people as he knew the consequences. “Whoever goes against the people, they will only lose faith,” Mr. Vinod Kumar pointed out.

The TRS would play the role of a responsible opposition party and would fight for the people in the region. The long pending demands such as establishment of railway division at Kazipet, laying of new railway line from Manugur to Ramagundam via Bhupalpally, inclusion of Warangal town in National Urban Renewal Mission would be taken up by the party, Mr Vinod Kumar said.
