Budding Stars triumphs

CHENNAI: Aditya Raghuram of Budding Stars CA scored 40 runs to help his side defeat Kanniah CA by 21 runs in the final of the under-12 Dr. Vimala Convent-CSCA Trophy.

The scores: (finals): U-12: Budding Stars CA 138 for five in 25 overs (Aditya Raghuram 40) bt Kanniah CA 117 (Leo Sachin 38 n.o.).

U-11: AVMCCG 110 in 20 overs (Aditya 30) lost to Chennai CA 112 for five in 15.3 overs.

U-10: Ebenezer Marcus 168 for six in 25 overs (S. Abinash 53, M. Thyagarajan 36 n.o.) bt Chennai CA 142 in 25 overs (G.K. Shyam 35, Rohit four for 18).

Close call

St. Bede’s Anglo Indian HSS carved out a one-run win over PSBB (K.K. Nagar) in the Bhavan’s Rajaji Vidyashram Golden Jubilee invitational Twenty20 tournament here on Tuesday.

The scores: St. Bede’s Anglo Indian HSS 144 for seven in 20 overs (Aprajith 26, Barath Shankar 26, Akhil Srinath 26) bt PSBB (K.K. Nagar) 143 in 20 overs (Aditya Giridhar 59, Ramachandran 31, Indrajith three for 19).

St. John’s (Besant Nagar) 149 for five in 20 overs (Sylvester Jayan 36, Shikhan Hukuu 43 n.o.) lost to Vidya Mandir, Mylapore 150 for three in 19.1 overs (M.A.M. Ganesh 43, Aditya Arun 37, L.S. Vedhant 41 n.o.).

St. Mary’s MHS 65 in 14.1 overs (Gopinath 25, Nithin Dharma three for 12, Akash Khadel three for 7) lost to Don Bosco, Egmore 66 for no loss in 7.4 overs (Nithin Dharma 29 n.o., Aswath 26 n.o.).

Chelvaraj bats well

Opener V. Chelvaraj made 83 (76b, 8x4) to enable S. Rail Wheel Factory reach 210 for seven. Indian Bank was then shot out for 83 in 21.3 overs as Rail Wheel Factory entered the super league of the all-India YSCA Trophy tournament here on Tuesday.

The scores: Sunny CC, Nagercoil 112 in 28.2 overs (Antony Doss 40) lost to IOC Mumbai 113 for three in 21.2 overs.

S. Rail Wheel Factory 210 for seven in 30 overs (V. Chelvaraj 83) beat Indian Bank 83 in 21.3 overs.

Sunil, Prashanth shine

Sunil (75) and Prashanth (75 n.o.) helped Accenture defeat PayPal by 74 runs in the Max New York Life Insurance corporate Twenty20 cricket tournament.

The scores: TCS 192 for four in 20 overs (Gnana Sambandham 88, Arun 67) bt Fidelity National Information Services ‘B’ 82 in 18.2 overs.

Accenture 205 for four in 20 overs (Sunil 75, Prashanth 75 n.o., Venkat 28) bt PayPal 132 for eight in 20 overs (Vijay 39, Balaji 30, Honey three for 19).

Sports Mechanics 145 for nine in 20 overs (Vignesh 38, Vimal 25, Arun three for 31) bt Petrofac 59 for two in 12.2 overs by virtue of a better run rate.

Facile win

Bhavan’s Rajaji Vidyashram defeated Sindhi Model SSS by 10 wickets in the India Cements-Bhavan’s golden jubilee Twenty20 under-16 cricket tournament being held here.

The scores: Sindhi Model SSS 118 for nine in 20 overs (Gaurav Kumar Sinha 28, Abhishek Gupta 29, Milan Modi three for 11) lost to Bhavan’s Rajaji Vidyashram 121 for no loss in 14.4 overs (R. Gautham 58 not out, Hrudday 37 not out).
