Army recruitment from July 20

TIRUCHI: An army recruitment rally for the Soldier Technical & Nursing Assistant; Soldier General Duty; Soldier Tradesman and Soldier Clerk/Store Keeper Technical categories will be conducted by the Army Recruiting Office, Tiruchi at the Anna Stadium in the city from July 20 to 25.

Candidates of Perambalur, Ariyalur, Tiruchi, Karur, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Pudukottai, Sivaganga, Ramanathapuram, Virudhunagar, Tuticorin, Tirunelveli and Kanyakumari districts and Karaikal can take part.

The process of screening includes checking of documents, physical measurement, physical fitness test, medical examination and written test. Candidates should bring their SSLC/HSC / Higher education qualification certificate in original besides Transfer Certificate (in English) / Conduct Certificate and two Photostat copies duly signed.

They should also bring with them their nativity and community certificate in English affixed with individual’s photograph duly attested by Tahsildar with office seal and endorsed “This Certificate Issued For Enrolment Into Army”. Without the above endorsement, candidates will not be entertained, a press release from Colonel Sanjeev Kumar, Director Recruiting, Army Recruiting Office, Tiruchi said.

In case of non-Matriculation candidates, transfer certificate duly verified by the District Education Officer and mark sheets of last examination appeared duly affixed with school seal and attested by headmaster should be brought.

NCC ‘C’ certificate holders are exempted from written common entrance examination for seeking enrolment in Soldier General Duty and Tradesman categories.

However, they will have to appear for the written exam for seeking enrolment in Soldier Technical, Soldier Nursing Assistant and Clerk / Store Keeper Technical categories and will be awarded additional 15 marks as bonus marks in the merit list.

Candidates below 18 years of age will have to bring their parent consent certificate.

Medical examination of eligible candidates will be carried out at the rally site on July 22.
