CHENNAI: One more case of A(H1N1) flu was confirmed in Chennai and the patient, a six-year old boy already quarantined at the Communicable Diseases Hospital, here, has been put on on Tamiflu. Confirming this, Director of Public Health S. Elango said that treatment was started as soon as information about the test results came from Delhi. This is the ninth case of A(H1N1) detected in Tamil Nadu so far, he said, with two in Coimbatore, two in Chennai and five cases in Madurai. On Monday night and early Tuesday, four more people, all foreign nationals with suspected swine flu, were identified at the Chennai airport and sent to the quarantine section of the CDH. There were two British nationals and two French nationals, according to Dr. Elango. Airport sources said that on Monday night a family of five from Paris arrived at Chennai via Dubai by an Emirates flight EK 546. Two of the family members a nine-year-old girl and seven-year-old girl were suffering from fever. In the other case, the two British nationals arrived by another Emirates flight EK 542 from London via Dubai early Tuesday morning. Both were suffering from fever. The samples have been drawn and sent to the National Institute of Communicable Diseases, New Delhi, and the results are awaited. Two of the four persons with suspected flu were shifted from the CDH to the Government General Hospital on Tuesday evening after beds at the CDH were completely occupied. At the General Hospital, they were allotted different rooms and quarantined.
