Watery grave

A 54-year-old man, identified as P. Murugesh, allegedly drowned in the water stored in Thirumoorthy Dam near Tirupur on Tuesday.

Police said the man and his three friends, all from Tirupur, went swimming in the water impounded by the dam.

While his friends escaped, the man drifted into the middle, swept along by strong currents.
