CHENNAI: Police constables and subordinate staff always rose to the occasion and never let senior officers down in times of need, Director General of Police and Chairman, Tamil Nadu Police Housing Corporation, Jagan M. Seshadri has said. He was speaking at a parade organised as part of a farewell given to him on the occasion of his retirement from service on Tuesday. Mr. Seshadri said that the number of police officers was negligible compared to the strength of the police force in the State. The pride of any achievement should go to the police constables and subordinate staff. He said that the Tamil Nadu Police was ahead of others on several fronts, particularly sports. Commissioner of Police T. Rajendran said that Mr. Seshadri had led a special team of the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad that defused bombs in Coimbatore soon after the city was struck by serial blasts a few years ago. Director General of Police K.P. Jain, Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) K. Radhakrishnan among other officials took part.
