Savur made to sweat

Bangalore: Arvind Savur had to dig in deep to quell the challenge of Michael Rebello while former champions B.V. Srinivasa Murthy and B. Bhaskar cruised through their opening league matches in the 40th Senior State-ranking billiards tournament at the KSBA Hall with consummate ease.

Savur prevailed over Rebello 3-2. Srinivasa Murthy downed qualifier L. Nagaraj, while Bhaskar crushed M.S. Arun, who also made it through the qualifying rounds, with an identical 3-0 verdict.
