Spa Francochamps (Belgium): Chennai-based race driver Armaan Ebrahim survived a high-speed crash in a Formula 2 qualifying session here recently after his car veered off the track and ricocheted into a wall. The accident took place in the second qualifying session on a damp track when Armaan clipped the exit kerb of a high speed corner and then skidded off the wet paint there. The driver was rushed to the medical centre bleeding profusely from the mouth. Clinical examination revealed severe bruising of the neck, back, knee and mouth. The complete rear end of the car was destroyed in the crash and Armaan had to miss both races. The next race takes place in Brands Hatch, UK on July 21.
