NEW DELHI: India bagged a silver and bronze in the Jean Humbert memorial World Cup athletics for schools at Tallinn, Estonia, on Tuesday. Haryana boy Manish won a silver in 100m with an effort of 11.11s. Toros Pilikoglu (10.85) of Turkey took home the gold. Manish also took part in shot put where he finished 13th. Madhya Pradesh boy Ankit Sharma claimed a bronze in long jump with a leap of 7.15m, finishing behind Rasmus Rooks (7.20m) of Estonia and Chia-Hung Lin (7.30m) of Chinese Taipei. Ankit also took the fourth spot in javelin. Among the other boys, Nikhil Parokkottil Subramanian was fourth in 400m with a timing of 53s. He was sixth in triple jump. Jitender was fourth in pole vault and Lukmal Hakkim Koyithodika sixth in 110m hurdles. Among the girls, Sangeeta Yadav was the best performer. She took the fourth spot in 800m with a timing of 2:19.59. Bibiana Kullu, Arati Yadav and Juby Paily were fifth in 200m, 1500m and pole vault respectively while Shreeshma Rajan finished seventh in high jump. India was represented by eight boys and six girls in the meet which concluded on Tuesday. — PTI
