Decision on coop farming hasty: TDP

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: Telugu Desam has termed as unfortunate, the government’s unilateral decision to go ahead with its initiative on cooperative farming without taking into account the suggestions given by leaders of various political parties. In a statement, Dadi Veerabhadra Rao, leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council, said the government’s announcement that it would implement the programme immediately meant it was not prepared to take Opposition’s advice at all.

. In the name of a new agricultural policy, the government should not attempt to hand over the lands belonging to small and marginal farmers to corporate sector or Congress leaders, he said.
