Coimbatore: Ten persons arrested in connection with the attack on an Army convoy at Neelambur on May 2 were released on conditional bail from the Coimbatore Central Prison on Tuesday. Those released included Peoples Union for Civil Liberties activist Pon Chandran and M. Krishnasamy of the Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK), besides six MDMK activists and a Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam (PDK) activist. Under the bail conditions, they should sign at a police station regularly and render social service at orphanages at Ganapathy Hudco Colony and Pallapalayam. — Staff Reporter
