Increase in stipend sought
Staff Reporter
CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu non-service medical and dental post-graduates and CRRI Council will hold an indefinite strike from July 2, demanding an increase in stipend, according to a press release.
In the budget of the Public Health and Family Welfare Department presented to the Assembly on June 25, there were no indications of an increase in the stipend as promised before, the release said. Hence, the Association of Tamil Nadu non-service medical and dental post-graduates and CRRI Council had decided that they would wear black bands to work on Tuesday, followed by a one-day fast on Wednesday and an indefinite strike from Thursday, the release said.
