Gehlot seeks Centre’s help to develop tourism infrastructure

JAIPUR: Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has sought the Centre’s assistance in development of infrastructure at places of tourist interest in the State as well as in towns of religious significance such as Ajmer and Pushkar.

Mr. Gehlot pointed to the immense scope for development of tourism in the desert State in view of its rich heritage at a meeting here with the visiting Union Minister of State for Tourism Sultan Ahmed.

The Chief Minister pointed out that lakhs of foreign and domestic tourists visit Rajasthan every year to see the palaces, forts and mansions of archaeological significance, wildlife sanctuaries, religious centres and the State’s art and culture.

According to an official release, Mr. Ahmed assured Mr. Gehlot that his ministry would extend cooperation to the State for promotion of tourism.
