Bangalore: Voters, whose photos and other details have not been verified, can expect letters telling them where to go to get the needful done, according to Sriram Reddy, Additional Commissioner (Administration) of the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike and District Election Officer (Central division). Speaking to presspersons here on Monday, Mr. Reddy said that the BBMP would launch its 100-day programme to issue Elector Photo Identity Cards (EPICs) from July 1. “The programme, which is regular exercise, will go on till October 10. Letters will be sent to voters, whose addresses have been included in the list but other details such as photo are missing. The letters will contain information about where they can go to get their EPIC,” he said. He said that the BBMP had 21 Assembly constituencies under it, which had been divided into three zones — North, Central and South. While the Assembly constituencies of K.R. Puram, C.V. Raman Nagar, Sarvagna Nagar, Hebbal, Pulikesinagar, Malleswaram and Mahalakshmipuram fall under North zone; Rajarajeshwarinagar, Shivajinagar, Shanthinagar, Gandhinagar, Rajajinagar, Chamarajpet, Chickpet come under Central zone; and Govindarajanagar, Vijayanagar, Basavanagudi, Padmanabhanagar, B.T.M. Layout, Jayanagar and Bommanahalli come under South zone. Mr. Reddy said that each Assembly constituency would have one Voter Facilitation Centre (VFC), while each ward would have one Designated Photo Location. He also said that the centres would function from 8.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. and from 2.30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on all days (except Sundays) till October 10. At these centres, voters may register by submitting Form 6, cancel their names by submitting Form 7, make corrections with Form 8, and change the address mentioned in EPIC with Form 8A.
