NLC workmen withdraw indefinite strike

NEYVELI: The NLC Jeeva Oppantha Thozhilalar Sangham has withdrawn a three-day-long strike. This was decided at an emergency meeting convened here on Tuesday, following the arrest of about 200 contract workmen and front line leaders of the union.

Vice-president of the All India Trade Union Congress, the parent body of the Sangham, T. Manivasagam, said the decision was taken in consultation with State-level leaders of the AITUC.
