“Contractor could not get enough workers to complete work” PUDUCHERRY: Home Minister E. Valsaraj, who holds the Health portfolio, visited the government hospital for women and children, which is under construction, on Tuesday. The project, which has been hit by financial constraints, was moving at a slow pace even after the Health Department sanctioned Rs. 13.6 crore in January. The contractor could not get enough workers to complete the works, according to officials of the Health Department. Following the delay in the completion of the project, the Minister held a meeting with the Chief Secretary, Secretary (Works) and Secretary (Health) and later visited the spot. The project is expected to be completed by November 14, said the official.
