Shimoga
SHIMOGA: The monsoon continued to play truant in Shimoga district on Tuesday too with several taluks receiving no rain at all in the last 24 hours. The taluks which did not receive any showers are Shimoga, Bhadravati, Sagar and Sorab while Tirthahalli and Shikaripur taluks received scanty rainfall of one mm and 0.4 mm rain, respectively in the last 24 hours. The only taluk which received any semblance of rainfall was Hosnagar which registered 3.6 mm in the last 24 hours. As a result of a continued dry spell, major reservoirs in the district have not seen any improvement in their water levels.
