SHIMOGA: Villagers coming under the Harogolige Gram Panchayat limits of Tirthahalli taluk on Tuesday urged Deputy Commissioner Pankaj Kumar Pandey here to implement the drinking water project pending for many years. The villagers, who submitted a memorandum to Mr. Pandey, said that during the birth centenary programme of the former Chief Minister, Kadidal Manjappa, held at Harogolige village on December 29, 2008, Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa sanctioned the drinking water project worth Rs. 1.20 crore for villages coming under the Harogolige Gram Panchayat limits. They said that though the project had been sanctioned, there had been no sign of implementation.
