Directive to conserve electricity

NEW DELHI: Delhi’s Chief Secretary Rakesh Mehta has issued an order directing all government buildings to strictly conserve electricity. All the offices have been told to switch off all unnecessary lights and to operate air-conditioners at 24 degrees Celsius.

The officials and staff have also been requested to switch off the lights while leaving the rooms, and the building in-charge have been told to ensure that all the lights are switched off after office time except emergency lights required for security purposes.
