BANGALORE: With the launch of the Ceaars School of Sugar Craft and Baking, amateurs and professionals alike can now master the art of contemporary sugar and chocolate modelling and baking. The school has been started by C. Ramachandran, former Managing Director of Nilgiri’s Mechanised Bakery, who is known for the annual cake exhibitions he oversees where monuments such as the Taj Mahal and Eiffel Tower are re-created in sugar and chocolate. The institute intends to impart skills to entry-level professionals, home-makers, and veterans who wish to hone their skills further. The courses offered by the school include a four-week Cake Decoration, Baking and Sugar Craft Course, a 12-hour Chocolate Module spread over a week, a basic six-week Baking Course, and Professional courses in Bread Craft, Biscuits and Cookies, etc. A one-week shop floor training which deals with the logistics of baking and cake art is also offered. There are customised courses which offer classes as per the requirement of the student.
