Hostel admissions open

Tiruchi: The district administration has invited applications from school and college students (both boys and girls) belonging to the Backward, Most Backward and De-notified communities in the district for admission to the hostels being run the government.

An official press release here said hostels for students of the above communities were functioning at 46 places in the district. Students from IV to 12th standards could join in the hostels, besides those doing their graduation, post graduation and polytechnic courses. The annual income of the parents should not exceed Rs. 1 lakh.

The application of school students should be submitted to the respective Hostel Warden or to the office of the District Backward Classes and De-notified Communities Welfare Officer before July 15. The deadline is July 31 for College students, the released added.
