DNA reports confirm rape in Shiney case
Mumbai: The police today claimed that DNA tests have confirmed Bollywood actor Shiney Ahuja raped his domestic maid, even as he moved a court for bail.
“The DNA report has confirmed the rape of the victim,” said Amitabh Gupta, Additional Police Commissioner, adding, “the report has corroborated the allegations in the FIR that the actor had raped his domestic help.”
The actor is lodged in Arthur Road central jail here, after a court remanded him to judicial custody on the charge of raping 20-year-old maid at his residence on June 14.
Mr. Ahuja, in judicial custody till July 2, has moved a sessions court for bail, contending he was not required for interrogation and all tests have concluded. His bail plea will be heard in due course.
The medical examination of the victim has shown injuries on her private parts.
Mr. Ahuja’s medical report had shown an abrasion on his hand. However, blood and urine samples suggested the actor was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs when he allegedly committed the crime.Nail samples of the victim have been sent for forensic tests to gather corroborative evidence.
