Engineering and management education is very much sought after, notwithstading the huge number of engineers and MBA graduates produced year after year. A good engineering degree where the student is master of the subject is something the latter would cherish, for, this guarantees the student a good job, wherever he goes. Of late, many of the engineers too are opting for MBA to ensure better career prospects. There are quite a few colleges and educational institutions in north Andhra where quality education to produce highly proficient engineers and management professionals is imparted and some of them find place here.

ANITS

Anil Neerukonda Educational Society (ANES) has been founded by Dr.N.B.R.Prasad on August 7, 2000. ANITS established in the Academic Year 2001–02 with the approval of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi and the Government of Andhra Pradesh and is affiliated to Andhra University (AU), Visakhapatnam and accredited by NBA.

The college is located at Sangivalasa Village of Bheemunipatnam Mandal. The Institute offers 4-year B.E./B.Tech./P.G. Degree Programmes in Computer Sciences Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Bio-Technology, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and M.C.A. Disciplines.

ANITS Student Mr. D. Sandeep has been selected to Utah State University. An MoU has been entered into with M/s. Rocsys Technologies Pvt. Ltd., Hyderabad, a leading Designers and Manufactures of Embedded Systems for providing training in design of embedded systems. Merit- Cum- Means Scholarships are awarded by ANCF (USA), waiver of Tuition Fee for eligible students, Gold Medals are awarded to toppers of all branches, Cash Awards to students of II, III and IV years etc. M.C.A. Course is sanctioned and affiliated to A.U where the admission are opened. Eminent senior professors, many of them with more than 30 years of teaching experience in reputed institutions like IITs, NITs and AU. An experienced and qualified full-time Training and Placement Officer marshals the students to better careers.

AVANTHI INSTITUTIONS

The ‘Avanthi Institute of Engineering and Technology’ was established in Makavarapalem near Narsipatnam in 1999. B.Tech courses in ECE, CSE, IT, EEE and Mech branches, MCA, MBA, M.Tech, Software Engineering, Computer Science, VLSI Design Course, are offered in this institution. ‘St.Theresa Institute of Engineering and Technology’ was established in Garividi in Vizianagaram district in 2001. The ‘Avanthi Institute of Engineering and Technology’ is at Tagarapuvalasa in Visakhapatnam district in 2005. Besides MBA and MCA, other courses like B.Tech, ECE, CSE, IT,EEE and Mech are being offered at this institute. ‘The Avanthi Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences’ was also established in Cherukupalli near Tagarapuvalasa in 2005.

It offers B.Pharm course and has sixty seats. After obtaining due permission from the AICTE, New Delhi and JNTU, Hyderabad, the ‘Avanthi Technology and Research Academy’ was established near Basavapalem in Bhogapuram mandal of Vizianagaram district in 2008. The Institutes, which offers ECE, CSE, IT and EEE courses and B.Tech with 60 seats, has special hostel facilities.

Recognizing the growing importance of technical education for girl students, it has established the ‘Sri Gnaneswari Technological and Research Academy for Women’ at Kavulavada in Bhogapuram mandal of Vizianagaram district. During 2009, 18 reputed companies had conducted campus interviews and 203 students from the Avanthi Institutions got placements.

ACADEMY OF AVIATION

Academy of Aviation Engineering & Technology in Visakhapatnam offers courses in Aeronautical Engineering (AMAeSI), Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering (AMIETE), Computer Science & Engineering (AMIETE), Information Technology (AMIETE) and Mechanical Engineering (AMIME). The course duration is of five / six years depending upon the course chosen for those clearing SSC.

For a four-year syllabus for those passing the intermediate with MPC subjects & those with B.Sc. Mathematics and diploma would find entry into a three-year course. The College of Medical Sciences-Nepal is permanently affiliated to the Kathmandu University, fully recognized by the Nepal Medical Council, Sri Lanka Medical Council, General Medical Council (UK), enlisted in WHO’s World Directory of Medical Schools and International Medical Education Directory, is a premier institute of Nepal offering Post Graduate Courses in all Basic and Clinical Sciences, Super Specialty Programme in DM(Neurology) the first Medical College in Nepal to have this facility. The Medical Council of India has visited this college for recognition under reciprocity. National & International Collaboration. The college is established in 1996. The first batch has graduated in 2001 and since then college has produced eight batches of MBBS doctors so far.

MVGR College of Engineering, Vizianagaram

Maharaja Vijayaram Gajapathi Raju College of Engineering is a leading college in coastal Andhra Pradesh for its international bench mark in quality engineering education. RAGHU ENGG COLLEGES

The renowned academician, Mr. Kalidindi Raghu founded the Raghu Educational Society with the conviction of providing quality education at all levels. The College was established in 2001, affiliated to JNTU, has carved niche for itself in the field of engineering education within a short span.

With the successes achieved through Raghu Engineering College, Raghu Educational Society has established Raghu Institute of Technology (2007) and Raghu College of Pharmacy (2007) in the same campus both of which are affiliated to Andhra University. The Raghu Engineering College has scientifically designed Training Programs focusing on Campus Recruitment Patterns of Major IT giants like Infosys, Accenture, Wipro, TCS, and Sonata Software etc. In addition to training programs, they also had guest lectures by Industry Professionals from Tata Consultancy Services, Infosys Technologies and Wipro Technologies to name a few. In the present global economic crisis, 16 companies visited Raghu Engineering College On-Campus and 2 Off-Campuses for year 2008-09. PARISHAD

Sanketika Vidya Parishad Engineering College, established in the year 2003-04, has started with branches of Computer Science & Systems Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communications Engineering and Mechanical Engineering with intake of 60 each. Later in 2007-08, Civil Engineering was added with in take of 60. Further, 30 more seats have been added to Computer Science Department in 2008-09. The college is branching into post graduation with introduction of M.Tech in ECE and CS & SE with intake of 18 each and MBAand MCA with 60 each.

It is affiliated to the most prestigious Andhra University. About 19,000 text reference books; 44 national & 12 international journals, digital library with INDEST & DELNET access. The college possesses state-of-the-art software ’Ez School’ for the entire gourmet of administration, fees collection, attendance reports, library, stores, exam results, all on-line. Parents can get updated information on their wards’ performance, fee dues etc. as and when desired. The over all pass percentage in 2007 is 78.4%, 2008 is 86.8% and 2009 is 73.6%.

SRI PRAKASH COLLEGE OF ENGG

Krishna’s Pragati Institute of Technology under the aegis of SRI PRAKASH Institutions is offering holistic engineering education at Diwancheruvu on NH-5 in Rajahmundry. VITAM GROUP OF INSTITUTIONS
