Chamundeswaranath GUNTUR: Stage is set for the registration of a criminal case against the former Andhra Cricket Association secretary, V. Chamundeswaranath, in Guntur. Former honorary secretary of Andhra Cricket Association, N. Venkat Rao, supposed to file a case against Chamundeswaranath on Monday in Nagarampalem police station, failed to turn up at the last minute citing ill-health. He returned to Vijayawada and said that he would come to Guntur on Wednesday. The Vijayawada police had earlier expressed helplessness in registering a case as the ‘offence’ occurred in Guntur and also added that the ACA was registered in Guntur. Explaining the charges against Chamundi, Mr. Venkat Rao said over telephone that the ex-ACA secretary had tampered with the byelaws of the ACA and made changes to the clause, which originally stated that the ACA president/secretary could attend the BCCI general body meetings. The clause was altered so as to empower the secretary alone to attend the meetings.
