Madani being taken to Kolkata

NEW DELHI: Mohammad Omar Madani, the alleged Lashkar-e-Taiba head in Nepal arrested by the Delhi Police’s Special Cell earlier this month, is being taken to Kolkata in connection with his alleged role in a fake currency case.

The West Bengal police obtained a transit remand for Madani from a court here on Monday. He is expected to be taken to Kolkata on Tuesday. He is presently lodged in Tihar Central Jail here. His transit remand has been obtained for his production in a case in which four men were arrested recently with Rs.60,000 in fake currency.
