Slum-dwellers steal the show

HYDERABAD: Talented youths in the slums of the city, sang and swayed in the true ‘filmy’ style at the celebration of ‘Praja Samskrutika Mela’ (cultural festival) organised by Praja Naatya Mandali here on Sunday.
The celebrations were kicked off with traditional drum beats, which reached a crescendo to the accompaniment of electrifying footwork by the drummers.
Performances by a number of artistes handpicked from various slums followed.
The artistes were given mementos.
