Vijayawada
The non-availability of a board at the booking counter of long-distance services at APSRTC depot in Machilipatnam displaying timings of when the counter opens and closes is causing much inconvenience to passengers. No one knows the working hours of the counter. Is it not the responsibility of the APSRTC to install such a board? Passengers coming to the counter without knowing the working hours are often put to inconvenience when they find it closed. L.P.S. Priya Paraspet, Machilipatnam Introduce shuttle servicesI am happy to learn that the second railway line between Vijayawada and Guntur is likely to be thrown open for traffic in about a week’s time. Many regular travellers between the two cities, such as labourers and dependants on petty trades, are forced to spend about Rs.25 to travel in buses from one city to another. Those who can’t spend that much of money are travelling by risky modes like auto-rickshaws on National Highway. If the Railway authorities make use of the second line and introduce shuttle services at short intervals like 10 minutes or 15 minutes, it will be extremely useful to many such passengers. There will be definitely a good patronage to such services. I hope the Railway authorities will introduce the service, for which elected representatives of both the cities should strive. S.T.K. Parthasaradhi Vijayawada Telugu Desam must emulate ChiruMost of the opposition parties criticised PRP floor leader Chiranjeevi’s presentation of his views in the Assembly, and they took it in a negative way. They felt that PRP was outright supporting the Congress, after its maiden elections. But, it is not correct to oppose every policy and action of the government. The opposition parties should understand that the people taught a bitter lesson to it for severely criticising schemes like Arogyasri, which benefited scores of people. At least, now it should function as constructive opposition party and emulate PRP leader. S. Tejaswi Krishnalanka, Vijayawada
