Amenities in schools to be improved

Staff Reporter

NALGONDA: Minister for Information Technology, Youth Services and Sports Komatireddy Venkat Reddy has said that the infrastructure facilities in government schools will be improved to make the district a role model in education.

Speaking at a function after laying the foundation stone for the construction of additional classrooms at a cost of Rs. 36 lakh at the Government Girls High school here on Sunday, the Minister said that the government was laying focus on strengthening schools to enable them to compete with the private schools. Additional classrooms would be constructed within three months in the school, he said.

The proposed move to set up a Central University in Nalgonda would give a major thrust to higher education in the district, he said and added that the Mahatma Gandhi University building works would be completed at the earliest. “Efforts are under way to establish two Information Technology parks in the district,” he said.
