Number of swine flu cases swells to 18

HYDERABAD: A 10-year-old boy, who returned to Hyderabad from New Jersey in an Air India (AI 140) flight on June 25, has tested positive for influenza A(H1N1) flu virus on Sunday. With this, the number of swine flu positive patients in Andhra Pradesh has swelled to 18 out of which doctors have already discharged 16 patients after treating them.

Apart from the boy, a 15-year-old Hong Kong national is also admitted to Government General and Chest Hospital, Erragadda with swine flu. On Sunday, a 14-month-old boy, who came back to twin cities from Germany in Air India (AI 126) flight was also admitted with suspected symptoms of swine flu.

The 14-month-boy is being accompanied by his parents who did not have any flu like symptoms, doctors added.
