HYDERABAD: Morning walkers at the Jalagam Vengalrao Park in Banjara Hills had a shock of their lives when they noticed bodies of a couple inside the park on Sunday. K. Laxmipathy, 29, and his friend Farida Begum, 24, both hailing from Narayanpet in Mahabubnagar district, were found dead with syringes and a medicine bottle. The morning walkers immediately brought it to the notice of the security guards who in turn alerted the police. A suicide note purportedly written by the couple in Telugu and English and addressed to their respective family members was also recovered from them in which they stated that no one was responsible for their death. “We do not wish to live any more. Please forgive us for taking such an extreme step,” the note said. Police said the duo was childhood friends. While Laxmipathy was working as a lab technician in a corporate hospital at Banjara Hills, Farida was a nurse in a corporate hospital at Bogullakunta. “It’s not clear as how they ended their lives. Autopsy report will confirm their actual cause of death,” said Banjara Hills Sub-Inspector P. Rambhupal Reddy. He said reasons behind the couple’s suicide were yet to be confirmed and efforts were on to collect more details from their family members. Police registered a case of suspicious death under Section 174 of the Criminal Procedure Code and the bodies were handed over to the family members after conducting an autopsy at the Gandhi hospital mortuary.
