Vijayawada
There has been a significant increase in the prices of essential commodities like vegetables, pulses and foodgrains in the last few months burdening the common man and middle class alike. The rise in prices is a great cause of concern particularly to the middle class whose income are usually stagnant. The government appears to think about the poor and implementing various schemes for their benefit and advantage. In fact, none would have animosity for the schemes for the people below poverty line. But, the government should not ignore the middle class also. The government should consider the price rise as top priority and take steps to bring down the prices. V.K. Bhaskara Rao Chirala Live telecast neededThe brain behind introducing the live telecast of Assembly is so appreciable and high thinking. In the present day, the telecast is needed as the public are eager to know about the functioning of the government and their elected representatives. The public would understand how their elected representatives were functioning if proceedings were live telecast. The constitution has not given any right to the public to point and make a remark on the events that took place in the Assembly. In view of this, the government should rethink with regard to live telecast. B.V. Subrahmanya Sastry Bapatla Unhealthy practiceUnfortunately, owning to the demand for dove’s flesh and blood which is said to have medicinal value and medical properties in curing paralysis and also in enhancing human vitality, especially according to Ayurveda, it is pitiable to see doves being sold in places like fish markets. Moreover, dove is symbol of peace, and it should not be killed. The issue of killing or selling doves should be taken up seriously by the police and forest officials. Sujatha Nagaraja Rao Kavali
