Three persons killed in accident
MADURAI: Three persons travelling in a Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation bus were killed, and 12 others sustained injuries, when a container lorry rammed the vehicle at the Ring Road-Ramnanathapuram Road junction on Saturday.
According to the police, the bus was going to the Periyar Bus Stand from Thoothai when the lorry hit the rear footboard, killing P. Alagarsamy, C. Veerappan and R. Kattubhava on the spot. The injured passengers were referred to the Government Rajaji Hospital.
The lorry was on its way to Panruti from Tuticorin. The Silaiman police arrested lorry driver T. Ganesan of Paavoor Chatram. — Special Correspondent
