Elderly woman murdered at home

CHENNAI: A woman was found dead at her house in Kodungaiyur on Saturday.
According to police sources, R. Lakshmikutty (72) of Tiruvalluvar Nagar was found lying in a pool of blood with her throat slit and other stab wounds.
Her son K. Sivasamy, who stays in Perambur, came to see her at 3 p.m. on Saturday.
The main door was open and chilly powder strewn around the rooms.
Preliminary enquiries revealed that the victim was staying alone in the house. No valuables were missing.
Autorickshaw driver found dead
An autorickshaw driver was found dead on Kishkintha Road in Tambaram.
Police said the body of S. Sadiq (25) of Kannadapalayam was found with multiple cut injuries.
The body was shifted to Chromepet Government Hospital for post-mortem.
