KOLAR: Karnataka Prantha Raitha Sangha (KPRS) Kolar taluk unit president T. Krishne Gowda was injured on Saturday when he was allegedly beaten up by a group of people for exposing misuse of funds pertaining to works under National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA). According to KPRS district leader Holur Shankar, swindling of Rs. 36,000 meant for NREGA work under Urigili Gram Panchayat limits allegedly by panchayat member Sugunamma, secretary Rukminamma and other staff was detected by Mr. Krishne Gowda. When the KPRS leader raised the issue, he was invited for a discussion and as soon as he arrived, he was attacked by a group allegedly led by Devaraj, husband of Ms. Sugunamma. The injured leader was admitted to the District SNR Hospital here. A case was registered with Vemagal police station.
