Telangana Rashtra Samiti patches up with rebels
Special Correspondent
HYDERABAD: The Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) leadership on Saturday patched up with some of its rebels who distanced themselves from the party following declaration of election results.
Following a telephone call of TRS president K. Chandrasekhar Rao to former Minister A. Chandrasekhar, a delegation of the party later visited the latter’s residence to invite him to talks with Mr. Rao. Mr. Chandrasekhar, former MP D. Ravindra Naik and two others promptly met Mr. Rao at his house after which they addressed a joint press conference at Telangana Bhavan.
Mr. Rao announced relaxation of expulsion against Mr. Chandrasekhar and others and said they were free to participate in the programmes of the party hereafter. Expressing regrets at the controversies shrouding the party, he said they were the making of Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy with an intention to occupy the TRS office.
Mr. Chandrasekhar regretted that the turmoil in TRS made the forces rallying behind an integrated State happy.
