THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Association of Indian Universities has released the annual calendar of the national university games for 2009-10 season. The all-India competitions will begin on September 10 with Mangalore University playing host to ball badminton (women’s) event. Though the dates of cross country, cycling, fencing, canoeing and kayaking and yatching have been announced, no university has come forward to host these events. The schedule: Archery and compound archery: M.L.Sukhadia University, from November 1; Athletics: Madras, from December 15; Ball badminton (men): Mangalore, from October 10; Ball badminton (women): Periyar, from October 20; Baseball: Punjabi, from October 25; Boxing: BHU, Varanasi, from December 20; Gymnastics: LNUPE, from December 25; Judo: Punjab, from October 5; Korfball: Kurukshetra, from October 20; Shooting: Jiwaji, from December 15; Powerlifting, weightlifting and best physique: GNDU, from January 1; Rowing: Punjab, from October 15; Softball: GNDU, from October 20; Squash (men): Gurukula, from November 15; Swimming: Calcutta, from October 25; Wrestling: CCS, Meerut, from December 10; Basketball (women): MGU, Kottyaam, from November10; Chess: Calcutta, from October 20; Cricket (women): Calicut, from November 1; Handball: Punjabi, from December 1; Hockey (women): Jiwaji, from December 10; Kabaddi (women): Dr. YS Parmar, Solan, from November 26; Kho Kho (men): Ch.Devi Lal, Sirsa, from November 5; Kho Kho (women): Annamalai, from December 20; Netball: Osmania, from November 5; Tennis (women): Mumbai, from October 10; Volleyball (women): Pt.RS Shuka, Raipur, from January 10; Badminton: Mangalore, from January 10; Basketball (men): BHU Varanasi, from November 5.
