RTPS unit trips

Special Correspondent

BANGALORE: After showing a sign of recovery on Friday, the power problem again got worsened on Saturday with another generating unit with a capacity of 210 MW in Raichur Thermal Power Station tripping because of a technical problem. This resulted in the State, including Bangalore city, reeling under unscheduled load shedding during peak hours. The load shedding was more than four hours by 8 p.m. itself in some of the areas of Bangalore on Saturday.

The problem is expected to continue for a few more days till this thermal unit resumes generation.
