Rs.70-lakh swimming pool for Villupuram

VILLUPURAM: A swimming pool will be constructed at a cost of Rs. 70 lakh on the Collectorate complex here, according to Satyabrata Sahoo, Member-Secretary, Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu.

After inspecting the site along with Collector In-charge C. Kathiravan on Saturday, Mr. Sahoo told that the swimming pool would be 25 m long and 16 m wide.

While the government would contribute Rs. 35 lakh, the remaining to be mobilised through ‘Namakku Naame Thittam’ and public contribution.

25% of the fee collected for using the facility would be given to the District Sports Office towards maintenance.
