Perambur ROB to be completed by February

CHENNAI: Seven road overbridges (ROB) and road underbridges (RUB) being built in Chennai under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission, will be completed between October 2009 and April 2010, according to Deputy Chief Minister M.K. Stalin.
Of the seven facilities, RUBs at the level crossings of Jones Road and Monegar Choultry Road would be completed by October. The ROB at the Rangarajapuram level-crossing and a high-level bridge at Alandur Road would also be ready by that month.
The total estimated cost of all the four facilities would be Rs.36.65 crore. Giving an account of the execution of the facilities while initiating a debate in the Assembly on the demand for grants to the Municipal Administration and Water Supply Department on Friday, Mr. Stalin said that the Perambur ROB (estimated cost: Rs.51 crore) would be completed by February 2010.
The Rs.12.2-crore ROB at Kathivakkam High Road-Cochrane Basin Road level-crossing would be completed by March 2010 and the Rs.13.39-crore RUB at Villivakkam level crossing in April.
