5.5 cr. LPG connections by 2015

Panaji: The Petroleum Ministry has decided to accelerate the pace of new LPG connections so as to give 5.5 crore new connections till 2015 and to raise the population coverage in this area from 50 per cent to 75 per cent. This is part of the oil sector “Vision-2015 for Consumer Satisfaction and Beyond”, unveiled at a CEO conclave on Saturday in Goa in the presence of Minister for Petroleum & Natural Gas Murli Deora.

The vision document released by the Conclave, inter alia, said that total number of LPG customers would reach 16 crore with most of the new connections for rural areas.
